Invitation

As part of our local community mission, the Guild is assisting with "The Big Read" at the Shrewsbury Library. The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. This year, Ellen Dolan, director of the Shrewsbury library, asked AGS to participate. The Shrewsbury Library "Big Read" this year is focused on Mark Twain’s  The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In order to complement the other activities associated with this program, members have completed four murals featuring scenes and characters from this book. The murals arepainted on a substantial wood base, so that they can remain a permanent display.

A formal opening will be held Sunday, October 6 at the Shrewsbury Public Library on Main Street.
